Grand Theft Auto VI is taking players back to Vice City, but Rockstar Games is building a much larger world around the famous city.

The game takes place across the fictional state of Leonida, featuring tropical islands, wetlands, coastal towns, industrial areas and wilderness alongside the neon streets of Vice City.

Rockstar has officially revealed six major locations so far. In this guide, we take a closer look at every confirmed GTA 6 area and what makes each part of Leonida different.

Every Confirmed GTA 6 Location

The six major locations officially revealed so far are:

  • Vice City
  • Leonida Keys
  • Grassrivers
  • Port Gellhorn
  • Ambrosia
  • Mount Kalaga National Park

1. Vice City

Vice City is the centerpiece of GTA 6 and the most recognizable location in Leonida.

Rockstar's new interpretation goes far beyond the Vice City players remember from earlier Grand Theft Auto games. Official material shows a large modern city filled with beaches, nightlife, highways, high-rise buildings and colorful neighborhoods.

Vice City will also serve as an important backdrop for Jason and Lucia's story as they become caught up in a wider criminal conspiracy across Leonida.

2. Leonida Keys

The Leonida Keys bring a completely different atmosphere to GTA 6.

This tropical island chain features bright blue water, bridges, small communities and coastal scenery. Rockstar's official screenshots suggest that boats and water-based exploration could play an important role when traveling through this region.

The Keys should provide a major contrast to the dense urban environment of Vice City.

3. Grassrivers

Grassrivers represents the wild wetland side of Leonida.

Instead of skyscrapers and crowded streets, this region is characterized by large stretches of water, marshland and wildlife.

Its environment makes it one of the most visually distinctive locations Rockstar has revealed for GTA 6.

4. Port Gellhorn

Port Gellhorn shows another side of life in Leonida.

Rockstar's official imagery presents a coastal community with older buildings, roadside businesses and a noticeably different atmosphere from glamorous Vice City.

Its inclusion demonstrates that GTA 6's world is designed to extend well beyond one major metropolitan area.

5. Ambrosia

Ambrosia introduces the industrial side of the state.

Official GTA 6 screenshots show industrial facilities and a more working-class environment, giving this part of Leonida its own visual identity.

It adds another layer of variety to the map and helps make Leonida feel like a complete state rather than simply a city surrounded by countryside.

6. Mount Kalaga National Park

Mount Kalaga National Park takes GTA 6 players away from the beaches and city streets and into the wilderness.

Rockstar's screenshots reveal forests, rivers and mountainous landscapes, making Mount Kalaga one of the clearest examples of the environmental variety planned for GTA 6.

The area should give players another very different environment to explore compared with Vice City and the coastal regions.

How Diverse Is the GTA 6 Map?

The officially revealed locations suggest that environmental variety will be a major part of GTA 6.

Players will be able to move between a large city, tropical islands, wetlands, smaller coastal communities, industrial areas and national-park wilderness.

This variety could make traveling around Leonida feel significantly different depending on which part of the state you are exploring.

Is Vice City the Entire GTA 6 Map?

No. Vice City is only one part of the larger state of Leonida.

Rockstar has officially presented several additional regions outside the city, including the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.

Will Rockstar Reveal More GTA 6 Locations?

Rockstar has not confirmed that these six locations represent every area players will be able to visit.

For that reason, additional towns, neighborhoods or smaller locations may exist in the final game, but anything beyond Rockstar's confirmed material should currently be treated as unconfirmed.

GTA 6 Release and Platforms

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled for November 19, 2026.

Rockstar currently lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the supported launch platforms.

Final Thoughts

GTA 6 is shaping up to offer much more than a return to Vice City.

With tropical islands in the Leonida Keys, wetlands in Grassrivers, the coastal atmosphere of Port Gellhorn, industrial Ambrosia and the wilderness of Mount Kalaga National Park, Rockstar is building a state with several very different environments.
