GTA 6 PC Release Date: What We Know
Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the most anticipated games in years, but PC players still have an important question: when will GTA 6 come to PC? Rockstar Games has confirmed the console launch date and supported launch platforms, yet it has not announced a PC edition or official computer requirements.
That means any website claiming to offer a GTA 6 PC download, activation tool, cracked installer, or final system requirements should be treated with extreme caution. This article separates confirmed information from reasonable analysis and will be updated when Rockstar publishes official PC details.
Quick answer: GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC release date, PC system requirements, or an official PC store. A later computer version is possible, but its timing remains unconfirmed.

| Question | Current official status |

| Console release date | November 19, 2026 |
| Confirmed platforms | PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S |
| PC version | Not officially announced |
| PC release date | Not announced |

Is GTA 6 Coming to PC?
Rockstar has not confirmed a GTA 6 PC edition. Its current support information lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the platforms available for pre-order. The official launch announcement also names those consoles without including Windows.
This does not prove that a PC version will never happen. Rockstar has released several major games on PC after their console debuts, including Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. However, a historical pattern is not an official announcement. Until Rockstar adds Windows to its platform list, the safest answer is that GTA 6 is not confirmed for PC.
When Could GTA 6 Be Released on PC?
There is no official PC date to report. Predictions suggesting a release in 2027 or later are based on Rockstar's previous launches, not on a published GTA 6 schedule.
| Rockstar game | Original console release | PC release | Approximate gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Theft Auto V | September 17, 2013 | April 14, 2015 | About 19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 26, 2018 | November 5, 2019 | About 12 months |
Those examples show that Rockstar sometimes launches a PC edition later, but they do not establish a fixed rule. GTA 6 could follow a different schedule. Development priorities, testing, online services, hardware support, and the scale of the game may all affect timing.
A careful article should therefore avoid presenting a guessed date as fact. The first reliable confirmation will come from Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive through an official announcement, support page, investor release, or verified store listing.
Can You Play GTA 6 on PC at Launch?
Based on the currently announced platforms, no. The November 19 launch is for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no official Windows version to install or run at that time unless Rockstar changes its platform plan before release.
Console emulators are not a realistic alternative for a new game of this scale, and websites advertising a working GTA 6 PC emulator should not be trusted. Cloud gaming has also not been announced as a PC option. If an official streaming service is added later, Rockstar or the platform owner should publish the details directly.
GTA 6 PC System Requirements
Rockstar has not released minimum or recommended GTA 6 PC specifications. Lists that currently name a specific processor, graphics card, RAM amount, or storage requirement are estimates. They may be useful for discussion, but they should never be labeled as official.
It is too early to buy a new graphics card only for GTA 6. A future PC port could use different rendering options, upscaling technologies, storage requirements, or performance targets from the console edition. Hardware prices and available products could also change before the PC release.
What will official requirements probably include?
When Rockstar eventually publishes a specification table, expect it to identify:
- Supported Windows version and whether a 64-bit system is required.
- Minimum and recommended processors.
- Minimum and recommended graphics cards with required video memory.
- System memory requirements.
- Available storage space and whether an SSD is required.
- DirectX or other graphics API requirements.
- Internet and Rockstar Games Launcher requirements.
The official table may also explain the target resolution, graphics preset, and frame rate for each configuration. Without those targets, comparing an estimated parts list can be misleading.
Will GTA 6 Be Available on Steam?
Rockstar has not announced a Steam page, Epic Games Store page, or Rockstar Games Launcher version for GTA 6. A store listing for Grand Theft Auto V does not confirm where GTA 6 will be sold.
Rockstar's recent PC releases have appeared through its own launcher and, in many cases, other major stores. Still, the company could choose a different launch strategy for GTA 6. Wait for verified store links from Rockstar before adding anything to a wishlist or entering account information.
Why Might the PC Version Arrive Later?
Rockstar has not published a detailed explanation specifically for GTA 6. One reasonable technical consideration is the wide range of PC hardware. A console has a fixed hardware target, while a Windows version must work across many processors, graphics cards, memory configurations, drivers, displays, and input devices.
A good PC release may also need adjustable graphics settings, keyboard and mouse support, ultrawide display testing, shader compilation work, accessibility options, and protection for online services. These are general development considerations, not confirmed reasons for GTA 6's platform schedule.
How to Prepare Your PC Without Wasting Money
You do not need to build a new computer before official specifications exist. A better plan is to keep your current PC healthy and wait for verified performance tests.
- Do not upgrade for rumored requirements. Wait until Rockstar publishes minimum and recommended specifications.
- Keep enough storage available. Modern open-world games can be large, but no official GTA 6 PC size exists.
- Record your current hardware. Open Task Manager and select the Performance tab to see your CPU, RAM, GPU, and drives.
- Use an SSD for modern games. Do not assume a specific capacity is required until Rockstar confirms it.
- Compare real benchmarks after release. Requirements tell you whether a game should start; independent tests show how it actually performs.
If your computer is already slow during normal use, follow our guide on how to speed up a slow Windows 11 PC. Basic maintenance will not turn old hardware into a high-end gaming system, but it can remove unnecessary performance problems.
Beware of Fake GTA 6 PC Downloads
Because the PC version has not been announced, a website offering a complete GTA 6 Windows installer is not providing an official release. Fake downloads may lead to malware, password theft, unwanted browser extensions, or fraudulent surveys.
- Do not download unofficial installers, cracks, key generators, or “early access” files.
- Do not disable antivirus protection to make an unknown file run.
- Do not enter a Rockstar, Steam, Epic, email, or payment password on an unverified page.
- Check announcements directly on Rockstar Games and its official support website.
A convincing logo, countdown, or gameplay screenshot does not make a download legitimate. Verify the domain and wait for Rockstar to publish a direct PC announcement.
What About GTA Online, Mods, and Cross-Play?
Rockstar has not confirmed how a future GTA 6 PC version would handle online play, cross-play, saved progress, anti-cheat systems, or mods. Those features should be treated as unknown until official documentation is available.
Even if the console edition includes online features, that would not automatically confirm compatibility with a later PC release. Platform policies and technical systems can change between versions.

Final Answer
GTA 6 is officially scheduled for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. Rockstar has not announced a PC edition, release date, system requirements, or PC storefront. Past Rockstar releases make a later computer version plausible, but they cannot tell us exactly when it will arrive.
The best approach is to wait for an official announcement, avoid fake downloads, and delay expensive hardware upgrades until real requirements and performance benchmarks are available. Radar Next will update this page when Rockstar confirms the next step for PC players.
