HUAWEI Pura X View: Specs, Camera & Battery

The HUAWEI Pura X View is one of Huawei's most distinctive smartphones of 2026, combining an unusually wide display with a slim design, a massive battery, a 200MP main camera, and HarmonyOS 7.

Unlike many conventional flagship phones, the Pura X View uses a wider 16:9.5 display format designed to provide more horizontal viewing space for videos, photos, reading, and other content.

Huawei officially introduced the Pura X View in China in September 2026. Here is a closer look at its display, cameras, battery, performance, charging, and other key specifications.

HUAWEI Pura X View Key Specifications

A Very Different Wide-Screen Design

One of the biggest differences between the HUAWEI Pura X View and a typical flagship smartphone is its shape.

Huawei uses a 16:9.5 screen ratio, giving the phone a noticeably wider appearance. The idea is to provide more horizontal space for content while keeping the device relatively compact.

The phone measures approximately 144.1mm tall and 87mm wide, with a body thickness of about 6.68mm excluding the camera module. Despite its large battery, Huawei lists the weight at approximately 201g.

6.39-Inch 120Hz OLED Display

The Pura X View features a 6.39-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2232 × 1320 pixels and a pixel density of 406ppi.

The screen supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. Huawei also lists support for the P3 wide color gamut and 1.07 billion colors.

Another notable feature is the wider display format. Instead of simply increasing the diagonal screen size, Huawei has changed the proportions of the phone to provide a different viewing experience.

Kirin 9030S and HarmonyOS 7

Inside the Pura X View is Huawei's Kirin 9030S processor.

The phone comes with 12GB of RAM and is available with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of internal storage. There is no memory card expansion.

Huawei pairs the hardware with HarmonyOS 7 and its software optimization technologies. The company says its hardware and software improvements provide a significant performance increase compared with the previous Pura X under Huawei's own test conditions.

200MP XMAGE Main Camera

Photography is one of the biggest highlights of the Pura X View.

The rear camera system is led by a 200MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization.

The high-resolution sensor gives users more flexibility when capturing detailed images and can provide additional room for cropping and reframing photos.

Huawei also integrates its XMAGE photography technology and a second-generation color imaging camera designed to improve color reproduction.

50MP Periscope Telephoto Camera

The main camera is joined by a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.6 aperture and optical image stabilization.

Huawei lists approximately 3.7x optical zoom, with the telephoto camera using an 88mm-equivalent focal length.

The phone can also reach up to 100x digital zoom, although image quality will naturally depend on the zoom level, lighting, and shooting conditions.

Ultra-Wide and Macro Camera

The third rear camera is an 8MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

It also supports macro photography, giving the camera system additional flexibility for landscapes, group shots, architecture, and close-up subjects.

50MP Front Camera

Huawei has equipped the Pura X View with a 50MP front-facing camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

The front camera supports up to 4K video recording and includes portrait and other photography features.

This makes the Pura X View an interesting option for users who frequently take selfies, make video calls, or create content using the front camera.

7,000mAh Battery

Battery capacity is another standout specification.

The HUAWEI Pura X View packs a 7,000mAh typical-capacity battery despite its relatively slim 6.68mm body.

A battery this large provides Huawei with significant capacity for a device featuring a bright high-refresh-rate OLED display and flagship-level hardware.

Actual battery life will still vary depending on brightness, network conditions, camera use, gaming, background apps, and other factors.

66W Wired and 50W Wireless Charging

The Pura X View supports up to 66W Huawei wired SuperCharge with compatible charging equipment.

It also supports up to 50W Huawei wireless SuperCharge with compatible Huawei wireless charging hardware.

Wireless reverse charging is supported as well, while wired reverse charging can provide up to 5W for compatible devices.

IP68 and IP69 Protection

Huawei lists both IP68 and IP69 protection for the Pura X View under specified laboratory conditions.

The IP68 testing described by Huawei includes fresh-water resistance at a depth of up to two meters for 30 minutes under controlled conditions.

Huawei also notes that water and dust resistance are not permanent and may decrease with normal wear over time.

eSIM and Connectivity

The Pura X View supports physical nano-SIM cards as well as eSIM functionality, although carrier availability and supported configurations can depend on the market.

Other connectivity features listed by Huawei include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, USB Type-C, and dual-frequency GPS support.

The Chinese model also includes BeiDou satellite messaging functionality, although Huawei specifies that this satellite feature is limited to mainland China and requires compatible services.

Storage Options

Huawei offers three storage configurations:

• 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
• 12GB RAM + 512GB storage
• 12GB RAM + 1TB storage

The phone does not support expandable memory cards, so buyers should choose their storage capacity carefully.

What Makes the Pura X View Different?

The Pura X View is not simply another smartphone with upgraded specifications.

Its biggest distinguishing feature is the unusually wide display. Combined with a 200MP camera, 7,000mAh battery, Kirin 9030S processor, and slim body, Huawei is clearly trying to offer something visually and functionally different from conventional flagship phones.

The wider screen could be especially interesting for video, photography, reading, multitasking, and other content that benefits from additional horizontal space.

HUAWEI Pura X View Price and Availability

Huawei lists the Pura X View in China with a starting price of CNY 5,999.

The phone was officially introduced in China in September 2026, with sales beginning on September 9.

Pricing, software, network compatibility, eSIM support, satellite functionality, and availability may differ if Huawei introduces the device in additional markets.

Is the HUAWEI Pura X View Worth Watching?

The Pura X View stands out because Huawei is experimenting with the physical proportions of a traditional smartphone instead of simply following the familiar tall-screen formula.

Its combination of a 6.39-inch wide OLED display, 200MP camera, 50MP periscope telephoto camera, 7,000mAh battery, 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and Kirin 9030S makes it one of Huawei's more unusual smartphone releases.

However, buyers outside China should pay close attention to regional availability, software, network compatibility, and supported services before considering the device.
