GTA 6 Release Date and Platforms
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar's official Grand Theft Auto VI website lists this date and these platforms. If you are checking whether your console can play the game, the confirmed launch list is the most useful place to start.
This guide covers the GTA 6 release date and platforms, the announced story setting, and practical details to check before buying. Information was checked against official Rockstar and PlayStation pages on October 7, 2026.
When Is GTA 6 Coming Out?
The announced release date is November 19, 2026. Treat that as the current schedule rather than a guarantee that circumstances cannot change. For future updates, use Rockstar's own website instead of an old search snippet or an undated social post.

Is GTA 6 Coming to PC?
Rockstar's current game page names PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, without a PC release date. That does not establish a future PC timetable. An estimated port date, Steam listing prediction or proposed hardware requirements should not be presented as an announcement.
If you play exclusively on PC, the practical choice is to wait for platform-specific confirmation before planning a hardware upgrade around this game. Buying components for unannounced requirements risks spending money on the wrong priorities.
Where Is GTA 6 Set?
The story takes place in Vice City and the state of Leonida. Rockstar describes Jason and Lucia becoming entangled in a criminal conspiracy after a score goes wrong, with the pair depending on one another to survive.
That premise establishes the central characters and setting. It is not a basis for inventing a precise campaign length, complete mission list or exact map dimensions. Keep official story details separate from predictions about how the final adventure will unfold.
What Has PlayStation Confirmed?
The official PlayStation page lists a single-player experience, offline play, Remote Play support and a PS5 Pro Enhanced designation. It also describes DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, Tempest 3D audio and SSD-based loading features.
Those labels do not, by themselves, specify a guaranteed frame rate or resolution for every console mode. If performance is your deciding factor, look for detailed mode information and independent launch testing before choosing hardware specifically for GTA 6.
GTA 6 Editions and Price
On the US PlayStation page checked for this article, the Standard Edition is listed at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. These are US storefront prices; check your own region, currency and checkout total.
Rockstar also advertises the Vintage Vice City pre-order pack and a separate Vice City collectible collection. Before buying a collector product, read its contents carefully rather than assuming every box includes the same game entitlement.
Choose an edition by comparing what you will actually use. A higher price is not evidence of better core game performance. Check the product description, account region and retailer terms before paying.
What to Check Before Release Day
- Console compatibility: Confirm the exact model you own, especially if you are upgrading from an older generation.
- Account region: Read the listing associated with the account you will use to purchase and play.
- Storage: Wait for the installation requirement before deleting games or buying additional storage based on a rumor.
- Pre-load versus access: Downloading files early does not necessarily mean the game is playable early.
- Subscriptions: The US PlayStation listing includes a pre-order GTA+ offer with automatic renewal terms. Read eligibility and cancellation details if you claim it.
- Unlock time: Check your actual store listing for local access information rather than assuming one universal launch hour.
