One UI 9: Rollout, Devices & Features

Explore Samsung’s One UI 9 rollout, confirmed starting devices, key features, and how to check for the update on your Galaxy phone.

Samsung announced the One UI 9 rollout on September 16, 2026, starting with Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. Its launch announcement also identifies Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8 as devices already running the software.

This guide separates the announced rollout from individual feature support, so readers can check their own device without relying on a speculative compatibility list.

Which Devices Are Confirmed?

  • Rollout starting models: Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra.
  • Already listed with One UI 9 at the announcement: Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8.

Samsung says other Galaxy devices will follow gradually. This is not a complete eligibility list or a guarantee that every regional variant has received the update.

What Is New in One UI 9?

  • My FanCam: reframes recorded video around a selected person.
  • Now Brief: adds customizable daily cards.
  • Now Nudge: offers contextual suggestions.
  • Document Scan and Interpreter: receive usability improvements.
  • Security Brief and Privacy Alerts: highlight potential security or permission concerns.

Feature availability varies. Some tools require a Samsung account, supported languages, or a network connection. Check the conditions in Samsung’s official announcement.

Does Feature Support Mean the Update Is Available?

No. A device appearing in a feature-support footnote should not be presented as having received the update. The useful question for an owner is whether Samsung has released the software for their exact model and market.

When checking an online report, note the country, model number, carrier, and publication date. A screenshot from another owner is a useful clue, but it is not a substitute for your device’s update screen.

How to Check for the Update

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Software update.
  3. Tap Download and install, or the equivalent update-check option on your model.
  4. If an update appears, read its details and follow the installation prompts.

Back up important data before updating. Samsung provides instructions in its Galaxy software-update guide.

What If One UI 9 Does Not Appear?

Samsung explains that update availability can depend on the device model and carrier. A rollout announcement therefore does not provide a universal installation date.

Keep a note of your model number and current software version when asking Samsung support about availability. This makes the question more specific than asking when every Galaxy phone will receive the update.
