One UI 9 Now Nudge: What It Does

Learn what Now Nudge does in One UI 9, how to enable it on supported Galaxy phones, and how it differs from Now Brief.

Now Nudge is one of the Galaxy AI features highlighted in Samsung's One UI 9 update. It offers suggestions connected to what you are doing, helping you move from a conversation to a relevant action.

The feature existed before One UI 9. Samsung describes the update as improving its suggestions across the keyboard and different apps, rather than introducing Now Nudge for the first time.

What Does Now Nudge Do?

Samsung's examples include checking your calendar, adding appointments and saving locations to maps. Its support guide also explains photo-sharing suggestions and filling in details such as your name or email using information stored in Personal data intelligence.

Think of it as a shortcut offered at a useful moment. You should still check the destination, appointment details or selected photos before completing an action.

How to Enable Now Nudge

On a supported Galaxy phone, Samsung documents these steps:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Galaxy AI.
  3. Tap Now nudge.
  4. Turn the feature on.

Menu labels and layouts can differ with the model and software version. Samsung Account sign-in is required.

Examples You Can Try

  • An appointment: A message mentioning a date and time may produce a calendar suggestion. Review the event before saving.
  • A meeting place: A shared location may offer a shortcut to a map. Confirm that the suggested place is correct.
  • Sharing photos: A relevant suggestion can help you choose pictures to share. Check the selection and recipient.

For a useful first test, use a simple appointment with an unambiguous date and time. Avoid judging the feature solely from a complicated conversation containing several possible plans.

Now Nudge vs. Now Brief

Now Nudge offers actions related to the current context. Now Brief presents personalized briefings about your day and interests, with shortcuts to relevant tasks. They have different purposes, even though both are part of Galaxy AI.

Availability and Personal Data

Samsung says availability varies by device, region and language. Its One UI page lists Samsung Messages, Google Messages and Google Chat among apps supporting text prompts; support should not be assumed for every messaging app.

Samsung's setup guide includes optional Personal data intelligence settings and a Manage personal data section. Read the consent options before adding information, and register only details you want the feature to use.

What If the Option Is Missing?

Check the official guidance for your exact model and regional software build. Receiving One UI 9 does not automatically establish support for every advertised AI feature.

If the setting exists but suggestions do not appear, note the app, language and type of message you tested. This makes a support request more useful than simply reporting that the feature does not work. An absent prompt alone does not prove that your phone has a fault.
